Job Search Resources: Building My Brand Worksheet (PDF, Editable, Printable)

$3.00
When trying to land your first (or next) career, you're bound to be faced with that dreaded interview question... "Tell me about yourself." Without a solid understanding of who you are and what you bring to the table (AKA your brand), it can be difficult to not only appear confident in interviews, but also ensure that the jobs in which you apply align with you and your brand. This exercise will help you put your brand into words - to help you in your job search process AND make your interviewers love you!

This exercise is separated into four sections, each including guided questions to help you uncover your brand piece by piece.

PART 1: My Values, Interests, and Skills (AKA who I am right now)
- This section allows you to reflect on the most important elements that make you who you are - these are essential parts of your brand and can be used to make sure that there's alignment between you and a job.

PART 2: My Past Experiences
- This section allows you to reflect on big moments, stories, experiences, etc. that have shaped you into the person you are today and have possibly created/strengthened your core values, interests, and skills. Incorporating a monumental past experience into your brand/elevator pitch can make you stand out, because no one has experienced life exactly as you have!

PART 3: My Future Goals
- Bringing together your past experiences with your current self can give way to your future goals. This is your space to brainstorm and document your career and/or life goals based on your answers from parts 1 and 2.

PART 4: My Elevator Pitch
- Every section up to this point has prepared you to write your elevator pitch. These are the few sentences that you can use in any interview or job application to instantly stand out and show off your brand. This section includes an example elevator pitch and space to create your own, based on your past, present, and future!

This document is part of my Job Search series on my storefront. To get even more out of this document, supplement it with my job application tracker, networking tracker, interview prep kit, and more!
